A Classical Guitar Study I Do Every Day
Aug 18, 2022Here's one of the exercises I do just about every day for my classical guitar technique: Allegro by Mauro Giuliani. This is not the more well known Allegro by Giuliani but rather a seldom-heard piece that is made up entirely of the double arpeggio technique where we play all fingers of the right hand in order toward the floor and back.
This arpeggio pattern totals 6 notes altogether and therefore this study has us playing sextuplets on each beat in 4/4 time:
Watch the tutorial below where I walk you through this piece step-by-step and consider attending my free workshop where I go into this essential classical guitar technique in great detail along with two other techniques that I believe are the most important for the right hand.
For a lot of beginner classical guitarists have trouble with their fingernails; if they are too long, you will get stuck in the strings, and if they are not smooth, we will also have a problem. Check out my Classical Guitarists Guide to Fingernails for some tips to ensure you've got your nails in the best shape – after all, playing guitar is hard enough without our nails getting in the way!
